To kick off our 25th anniversary celebrations, there will be an unveiling of a new Frazer Irwin Memorial Board on Tuesday 24 June at 11.00am in Darwin Gardens. There will be a brief ceremony, followed by the opportunity to explore the beautiful gardens.
Frazer Irwin was a key driving force and visionary behind the concept for Darwin Gardens Millennium Green. Frazer loved Ilkley and was very involved in the life of the town. He worked tirelessly to safeguard our beautiful natural environment, and to strive for sustainability.
Frazer, who passed away in 2022, was highly regarded and his friends have raised some funds to create an information board, commemorating his life and his contributions to Ilkley, to be placed in Darwin Gardens.
The wonderful photo dates to June 2000, when Jilly Cooper officially opened the Gardens.
